The customer’s responsibility for cross connection control and backflow prevention begins at the water meter, where water is delivered from the JCSA potable water system into the customer’s water distribution system. The consumer has the responsibility of preventing pollutants and contaminants from entering the JCSA potable water system. The customer, at their own expense, shall install, operate, test, and maintain approved backflow assemblies as directed by JCSA.
